PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	adapt to predictable daily changes in environment and regulate rhythmic
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	processes such as sleep-wake cycles, feeding-fasting cycles, metabolism,
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	hormonal signaling and neuronal excitability. Besides light, the dominant time
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	cue for the brain clock, metabolic signals from clock-controlled feeding-fasting
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	cycles represent the most potent time cue to entrain and synchronize peripheral
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	clocks in key organs. Much effort has been dedicated to understanding the
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	metabolic regulation of daily biological rhythms, but many important mechanisms
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	are only just emerging. We recently established that metabolic signals from
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	feeding-fasting cycles regulate daily biological rhythms in Drosophila through
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	rhythmic O-linked-N-acetylglucosaminylation (O-GlcNAcylation). Protein
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	O-GlcNAcylation is a nutrient sensitive posttranslational modification (PTM)
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	that is tightly linked to metabolic status, as UDP-GlcNAc, the substrate of
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	O-GlcNAcylation, is produced from hexosamine biosynthetic pathway (HBP), which
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	integrates the metabolites from glucose, amino acid, lipid and nucleotide
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	metabolism. We now propose to investigate whether feeding activity can regulate
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	daily O-GlcNAcylation rhythm in mouse liver and heart and whether the levels of
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	HBP metabolites in mouse liver and heart are affected by different feeding time
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	within a day/night cycle. Here, we restricted the feeding time of C57BL/6 male
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	mice to ZT12-24 (RF12-24. ZT, zeitgeber time; ZT0 indicates light on, while ZT12
PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY               	indicates light off) v.s. ZT0-12 (RF0-12) for 3 weeks and collected liver and

CO:COLLECTION_SUMMARY            	Mice were anesthetized using isoflurane. The liver or heart are dissected out
