Study Title | NIH WCMC Pilot & Feasibility Project: “Metabolomics of Neonatal Pulmonary Hypertension” in human |
Study Type | Case-control study |
Study Summary | Targeted metabolomic analyses of oxylipins were performed on 40 human umbilical cord plasma samples collected from infants born prematurely (gestational age <37 weeks). Samples were analyzed by UPLC-MS/MS using a Waters Acquity UPLC and detected on an API 4000 QTrap (AB Sciex, Framingham, MA, USA) by multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) after negative mode electrospray ionization. |

Project Title: | Metabolomics of Neonatal Pulmonary Hypertension (in Preterm Infants) |
Project Type: | Case-control study |
Project Summary: | This study aimed to determine metabolic patterns in cord blood associated with the development of pulmonary hypertension (PH) in human preterm infants. Umbilical cord blood was acquired from a nested case-control study of 20 premature (gestational age <37 weeks) infants with PH (cases) and 20 infants without PH (controls) selected from Prentice NICU birth cohort. Case and control infants were matched by race/ethnicity, gender, and gestational age. Archived cord blood plasma underwent metabolomics analysis. |
