During this time, mice were kept on a light/dark cycle and fed a standard chow diet ad libitum. Upon 20 weeks of age, mice were euthanized. No additional factors such as injury, diet, or exercise occurred. Mice were simply used to analyze sex differences as well as differences in metabolism between musculoskeletal tissues. |
