Study Title | DBA2J Phosphatidylethanolamine Analysis |
Study Summary | AH and TM samples were obtained from young-normotensive DBA/2J (3 and 7.5 months) and old-hypertensive DBA/2J mice (8-8.5, 10 and 12 month). Lipids were extracted using modified Bligh and Dyer method and subjected to mass spectrometric identification using appropriate class-specific lipid standards and ratiometric quantification. Corresponding aqueous phase (of extraction) protein concentrations were measured using Bradford method. |

Sample Preparation:
Sampleprep ID: | SP000609 |
Sampleprep Summary: | A total of ~3 μl of AH and ∼0.5-1 mm3 of TM per mice was used for phospholipid extraction using modified Bligh and Dyer extraction method[13,14]. Phospholipids extracted in the lower organic phase were dried using a Speed-Vac (Model 7810014; Labconco, Kansas City, MO), and then flushed with argon gas for oxidation prevention. Proteins procured from the upper aqueous phase were quantified using a suitable modification of Bradford’s method. |
