Study Title | Characterization of feces in Atrial Fibrillation (AF) patients |
Study Summary | Atrial Fibrillation (AF), an abnormal heart rhythm characterized by the rapid and irregular beating of the atria, is the most common arrhythmia with heavy global burdens. The present project aimed to characterized the feature of metabolites in feces of AF patients by using LC-MS. |

Collection:
Collection ID: | CO001269 |
Collection Summary: | Fresh stool samples were collected from each participant, immediately frozen at −20 °C, transported on ice to the laboratory and then stored at −80 °C. |
Sample Type: | Feces |
Treatment:
Treatment ID: | TR001290 |
Treatment Summary: | We enrolled participants consisting of patients with AF. |
Sample Preparation:
Sampleprep ID: | SP001283 |
Sampleprep Summary: | 20 mg fecal samples were pipetted into centrifuge tubes (1.5 mL) in preparation for extraction. The protein was precipitated with 800 μL of methanol and 10 μL of internal standard (2.9 mg/mL, DL-o-Chlorophenylalanine) was added. The samples were ground at 65 KHz for 90 s and centrifuged at 12000 rpm for 15 min at 4 °C. 200 μL of the supernatant was transferred into a vial for further analysis. |
