Study Title | Needle leachates of Pinus koraiensis from May to September |
Study Summary | To study the allelopathy in agroforestry system (Pinus koraiensis and Panax ginseng in this context), we identified the compounds of the needle leachates during the growing season of Panax ginseng (May~September). Three replicates were set for each month, leachates were extracted with ethyl acetate and concentrated for GC-MS analysis. As a result, a total of 795 metabolites were identified in all the samples. |

Project Title: | Use of untargeted metabolomics for assessing soil from Panax ginseng that were leaf-sprayed with endo-borneol |
Project Summary: | To study the rhizosphere soil matabolism of 4-years Panax ginseng that wereleaf-sprayed with endo-borneol at different concentrations (0, 0.1 mg/L, and 100 mg/L) under field condition, liquid chromarography tandem mass spectrometry was used for examination. Each treatment is set with 6 replicates for assessing nontargeted metabolomics. The LC-MS/MS analysis was performed using a Thermo UHPLC-Q Exactive HF-X system equipped with an ACQUITY HSS T3 column. As a result, a total of 296 and 569 metabolites were identified in negative ion mode and positive mode, respectively. |

Collection Summary: | Fresh pine needles were collected from forests of Pinus koraiensis located in Benxi (41°4′17″ N, 124°29′58″ E, 578 m, 965.9 hPa) , Liaoning province, China. From May to September, 2020, fresh needles were collected on a monthly basis, and brought back to laboratory to prepare needle leachates. Every 150 g of fresh needles collected from Pinus koraiensis on a monthly basis during May to September were soaked in 1000 ml of sterilized water for 48 hours at room temperature, and subsequently filtered twice using qualitative filter paper through suction filtration. The aqueous leachates with a concentration of 150 g/L were stored at 4 °C for further analysis. |

Sampleprep Summary: | A volume of 100 ml of leachates was extracted by 300 ml ethyl acetate (Analytical grade, Tianjin Fengchuan Chemical Reagent Co., Ltd, 426 Tianjin, China) then evaporated by rotary evaporator at 45°C with 4°C-condensed water recycled in low-temperature circulator. The remaining sediment was 429 rinsed with 2.5 ml of hexane (HPLC, EMD Millipore, Billerica, MA, USA). The liquid hexane was filtered using a 0.22 um Millipore filter (Catridge filter, Jin Teng, China) for gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis. |
