Catalytic Activity(+)-(R)-limonene + NADPH + O(2) = (+)-trans- carveol + NADP(+) + H(2)O.
Catalytic Activity(-)-(S)-limonene + NADPH + O(2) = (-)-perillyl alcohol + NADP(+) + H(2)O.
Catalytic Activity(-)-(S)-limonene + NADPH + O(2) = (-)-trans- carveol + NADP(+) + H(2)O.
CofactorName=heme; Xref=ChEBI:CHEBI:30413;
FunctionCytochromes P450 are a group of heme-thiolate monooxygenases. In liver microsomes, this enzyme is involved in an NADPH-dependent electron transport pathway. It oxidizes a variety of structurally unrelated compounds, including steroids, fatty acids, and xenobiotics. This enzyme contributes to the wide pharmacokinetics variability of the metabolism of drugs such as S- warfarin, diclofenac, phenytoin, tolbutamide and losartan.
InductionBy rifampicin.
SimilarityBelongs to the cytochrome P450 family. {ECO:0000305}.
Subcellular LocationEndoplasmic reticulum membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Microsome membrane; Peripheral membrane protein.
